About the event

Join us for a Mantra House Social - an evening of Kirtan Yoga/Meditation led by Dr. Sandhya Subramanian from Mumbai and Gong Meditation led by Stephanie Wood!  Kirtan is a type of call and response mantra meditation from ancient India that calls upon conscious sounds to help participants better find a sense of joy and purpose in their daily lives. Immerse yourself in sound vibrations surrounded by gongs, harmoniums, and other instruments that allow yourself to be still, yet experience a moving symphony for the senses.

About Stephanie Wood

Stephanie is a sacred and therapeutic sound practitioner, a sound artist, educator and healing justice activist. With a plethora of gongs and other instruments she incorporates surrounding soundscape, silence, and collective participation. Some sound sessions center harmony, healing, creativity and connection. Others center in the weird and wonderful experimental world. Stephanie is a former composer and orchestrator for Guru Gayatri equinox & solstice events. She’s engaged in diverse collaborations including Seattle’s DAIPANbutoh and various experimental ambiences.

Stephanie strongly believes in the power of creating spaces for "radical respite", individual and collective resilience. Pauline Oliveros is her “patron saint” of sonic awareness.
