Community Kirtan

Community Kirtan invites everyone to join in the singing, lead a chant or just soak in the powerful transformational and healing energy of these ancient mantras. Most chants are call-and-response, and no previous experience is required.  Bring your friends, your instruments, your voice, your open heart and join us.  Everyone is welcome!   The studio has mats, blankets, back-jacks, and a few chairs.  No registration needed, just show up and sing!

We are again meeting on a very auspicious day, as November 5 is the full moon, and also the celebration of Dev Diwali, which occurs on the first full moon following Diwali.  Dev Diwali commemorates Lord Shiva's victory over the demons of  Tripura, representing the triumph of good over evil and light over dark.  It is celebrated with a massive illumination of lamps, particularly in Varanasi.  Please bring your favorite chants, especially those  honoring Shiva!
